These cheats were verified to work on the "Stellar 7 (IO crack).dsk" image.

There is a disk image floating around, "MoonAdventure_DrolCheat_RCFSII_Qix_AEPatcher_Stellar7Cheat_Ramdisk2e_MsPacman_LastNinja2eCheat.dsk", which contains a 1302byte [7 sector) program. This patches the disk image directly. It works on the IO crack version. And I'd assume the original version un-cracked version.

You see, it just so happens that the IO crack hasn't moved the "ROCK2" file to a different location on the disk. And "Rock2" is the target file for the patcher. "ROCK2" was/is originally located on track 13h, sector 02h - through track 18h, sector 04h. The patcher utility expects the "ROCK2" binary to be located there.

A better way would be to load the file into memory, patch it, and save it back to disk. Or determine where the file begins on the disk, and count X amount of bytes till you come to the location that needs patching. Or operate on memory after the game loads. Better yet, offer a set of hidden <ctrl-S> or <ctrl-F> easter-egg keys that activate/deactivate the cheats.

My "re-release" of Stellar 7, comes pre-patched for you. Is it the most elegant way? Nope. But it is a convenient way, with today's flash memory enhancements, and emulators, sporting image selectors; it's no big deal to swap virtual disks. It also comes with an unmolested title page and a fresh & zero'd hi-score table, saved in filename "HIGH". It comes in 4 flavors. Normal, infinite shields, infinite fuel, and infinite shields + fuel.

Maybe someday I'll make an interactive patch that operates on the fly.
